Our offer includes systems capable to perform optical character recognition (OCR) directly on dot-matrix printed text. This technique is used in various fields, like packaging, to print product-related information. For example production and expiration dates, lot and product numbers. Our vision systems can ensure the validity of this information, comparing the read values with the expected ones.
Even in the case of dotted text we can offer performances reaching 100,000 readings per minute. Different distances between dots and variable text orientation are also supported.
The reading technology that we provide is also immune to contrast variations and can adapt, within certain limits, to scale and proportion changes, non-uniform spacing between dots, irregular backgrounds, deformed or inclined characters and perspective distortions. It’s also possible to define detailed rules that specify which characters are allowed in certain positions within the string. The system is able to recognize various fonts and characters, even outside the most commonly used ones.
